Neck Pain & Headaches Relief

HELIX Performance Physical Therapy – Unlocking Neck Pain Relief for Active Adults in Danville, CA

Your neck is a complex network of bones, nerves, and muscles, and is a vital component for active adults engaged in sports and daily activities. When neck pain strikes, whether from sports injuries, poor posture, or repetitive motion, it demands specialized attention.

At HELIX Performance Physical Therapy in Danville, California, we’re here to assist you in uncovering the source of your neck pain and providing targeted solutions. Call us at (925) 222-5101 to embark on a path to resolution and regain your active lifestyle.

For anyone, the neck is a pivotal junction connecting the head to the spine, influencing a wide range of movements crucial for sports and daily life. Tension, injuries, or stress can disrupt this intricate balance, leading to neck pain. Whether it’s the aftermath of sports-related whiplash, poor posture, repetitive motion, or tension buildup, identifying the root cause is key for effective physical therapy tailored to the needs of active individuals.

Common Causes of Neck Pain:

  • Sports-Related Whiplash: Injuries from high-impact activities or accidents.
  • Poor Posture: Strain from incorrect body alignment during sports or daily activities.
  • Repetitive Motion: Overuse injuries from sports-specific motions or activities.
  • Tension Buildup: Stress-induced muscle tension affecting the neck.
  • Torticollis: Abnormal neck muscle contraction, limiting motion.
  • Back Injury: Spine-related issues impacting the neck.

Athletes and active adults often experience the interconnectedness of neck pain and headaches. The cervical plexus, a network of spinal nerves in the neck, influences head and facial movements. When neck pain radiates to the head, chronic headaches can emerge. HELIX Performance Physical Therapy recognizes this connection and offers tailored solutions to address both issues effectively.

While initial attempts like medications or lifestyle changes may provide temporary relief, chronic neck pain demands a comprehensive solution. HELIX Performance Physical Therapy employs diagnostic tests to identify root causes. This holistic approach not only alleviates current pain and discomfort but also fortifies the neck’s stability, creating the foundation for optimal performance. Our tailored plans include:

  • Targeted Exercises: Enhancing strength and range of motion crucial for sports and daily activities.
  • Breathing Techniques: Improved ribcage mobility has proven to show great results in improving neck pain and headaches.
  • Manual Therapies: Trigger point therapy, massage, electrical stimulation, or ultrasound to alleviate tension and pain.

Don’t let neck pain limit your active lifestyle. Whether facing acute or chronic pain, sharp or dull discomfort, take proactive steps now. Seeking the expertise of our team can set you on the path to recovery. Contact HELIX Performance Physical Therapy for a consultation in Danville, California.

Can’t say enough about Wes

I hurt my leg training for a marathon and after working with him a few months, my leg feels GREAT! I just got home from a trip to Europe that I was a little worried about. I felt 100% the 2nd or 3rd day in Paris - maybe it was the 12-13 miles we were walking every day, maybe it was the French bread/wine, maybe it was both. Since i've been back, i've been riding my (indoor) bike too, just trying to get my leg stronger (still going to the gym, still doing my exercises).

THANK YOU for all of your efforts, your knowledge, your patience. I couldn't have done it without your guidance.  And it is 100000% appreciated.

Skilled and very engaging

I found Wes while he was at Diablo PT via Yelp when I needed help with severe sciatic pain. I was able to schedule sessions with Wes and was amazed at his knowledge, skill and very engaging personality.

At no time did I ever feel that I was getting a "cookie cutter" problem. He listens very well and works with you as an individual to provide exactly what you need.

I can't say enough good things about Wes and how much he helped me fully recover and get even better than I was before my injury.

I feel better each time I leave

Wes Anderson is one of the best physical therapist I have ever had. He is professional, bright, explains everything he is doing to strengthen my body, and I feel better each time I leave. He does not just give you a massage. He is breaking down tight muscles and gives me more flexibility and movement.

No matter what your issue is, you will get the best of care

I highly recommend Wes in Danville. Before going to Wes I had gone to several other places. Wes is, hands down, the one of the best. I saw him at his old clinic in Danville Diablo Physical Therapy. No matter what your issue is, you will get the best of care.
