At HELIX Performance Physical Therapy, we believe that precision is the key to unlocking your true running potential. That’s why we utilize the Coach’s Eye Video Analysis to delve deep into the intricacies of your gait and running mechanics. This state-of-the-art diagnostic testing method provides a comprehensive assessment of various crucial factors:

  • Cadence: Analyzing the rhythm of your stride to optimize efficiency and reduce the risk of overuse injuries.
  • Pelvic Control: Evaluating the stability of your pelvic region, a critical element in maintaining proper alignment during running.
  • Foot Strike: Examining the way your feet make contact with the ground, ensuring a balanced and biomechanically sound running style.
  • Base of Support: Assessing the foundation of your stride to identify any imbalances or weaknesses that may impede your performance.
  • Vertical Displacement: Understanding the vertical movement of your body during running, aiming for a smooth and energy-conserving stride.

During the analysis, you’ll engage in treadmill running at different speeds while our Coach’s Eye system captures footage of your side and back. Our advanced Dartfish software then meticulously dissects each recording, pinpointing areas for improvement and potential injury risks.

Upon detecting any movement faults, our highly trained physical therapists in Danville, CA will conduct a thorough physical evaluation. This involves a detailed examination of joints and muscle capacity to identify the underlying causes of any observed faults. From there, a personalized treatment plan is crafted to address and correct these issues, ensuring a holistic approach to your running performance and injury prevention.

Can’t say enough about Wes

I hurt my leg training for a marathon and after working with him a few months, my leg feels GREAT! I just got home from a trip to Europe that I was a little worried about. I felt 100% the 2nd or 3rd day in Paris - maybe it was the 12-13 miles we were walking every day, maybe it was the French bread/wine, maybe it was both. Since i've been back, i've been riding my (indoor) bike too, just trying to get my leg stronger (still going to the gym, still doing my exercises).

THANK YOU for all of your efforts, your knowledge, your patience. I couldn't have done it without your guidance.  And it is 100000% appreciated.

Skilled and very engaging

I found Wes while he was at Diablo PT via Yelp when I needed help with severe sciatic pain. I was able to schedule sessions with Wes and was amazed at his knowledge, skill and very engaging personality.

At no time did I ever feel that I was getting a "cookie cutter" problem. He listens very well and works with you as an individual to provide exactly what you need.

I can't say enough good things about Wes and how much he helped me fully recover and get even better than I was before my injury.

I feel better each time I leave

Wes Anderson is one of the best physical therapist I have ever had. He is professional, bright, explains everything he is doing to strengthen my body, and I feel better each time I leave. He does not just give you a massage. He is breaking down tight muscles and gives me more flexibility and movement.
